Former prime minister Imran Khan has been entangled in legal battles since his ouster from office in April last year, claiming that "nearly a century" of cases have been registered against him by law enforcers. Seeking details of the cases filed against him in the federal capital, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC). During the hearing, Khan's lawyer, Faisal Chaudhry, stated that multiple cases had been registered against his client, but the investigators failed to respond to their calls. The IHC Chief Justice, Aamer Farooq, ordered the police officials to remain in touch with the petitioner's counsel and provide details of the FIRs filed against the PTI chief. The police later informed the court that a total of 29 FIRs had been filed against Khan in the capital, including 28 by the police and one by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). Of these, one FIR had been terminated, seven were under investigation, and 20 cases were under trial in courts. The court disposed of the case after receiving the FIR details.
