In a recent meeting with prominent lawyers, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan received a show of support for his ongoing struggle to ensure the rule of law in the country. Mr. Khan expressed concern over the incumbent government's apparent lack of seriousness towards elections and urged lawyers to play their part in ensuring timely elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.
The meeting saw the participation of many lawyers from the Sahiwal division, including Insaf Lawyers Forum President for Arifwala, Murad Bhatti, and General Secretary for Okara, Junaid Khiji. During the meeting, the lawyers declared their intention to join the 'Jail Bharo' (Fill the Jails) movement if the government failed to mend its ways. They also advised the incumbent setup to refrain from derailing the elections.
The lawyers pledged their support for the rule of law in Pakistan and expressed solidarity with the Chief Justice of Pakistan. In a bid to create awareness and garner support for their cause, the lawyers also announced an All-Pakistan campaign to promote the rule of law.
