On Saturday, the 15th of April, the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Mufti Abdul Shakoor, tragically passed away in a road accident that occurred in Islamabad. According to the Capital Police's official Twitter account, the minister's vehicle was hit by a Hilux Revo while he was traveling from Mariott to the Secretariat Chowk.
The police have confirmed that five individuals were traveling in the Hilux Revo, and both the occupants and the vehicle have been taken into custody for further investigation. The minister was promptly transported to the Poly Clinic Hospital for medical attention, but unfortunately, he did not survive the accident, as stated by the police in their official statement.
At present, it remains unclear whether the minister was traveling alone or accompanied by other passengers at the time of the incident. This unfortunate news has deeply saddened the nation and the government, and investigations into the matter are currently ongoing.
