ISPR Confirms Terrorist Attack Along Pak-Iran Border in Balochistan's Kech, Resulting in 4 Martyred Soldiers

On Saturday, a terrorist attack along the Pak-Iran border in Balochistan's Kech district resulted in the martyrdom of four soldiers, according to a press release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The incident occurred in the Jalgai sector of the district when a group of terrorists from the Iranian side attacked a routine border patrol of Pakistani security forces operating along the Pakistan-Iran border.

Naik Shair Ahmed, Lance Naik Muhammad Asghar, Sepoy Muhammad Irfan, and Sepoy Abdur Rasheed were among the critically injured soldiers who later embraced martyrdom, the ISPR said in a statement.

The ISPR also noted that necessary contact was being made with the Iranian side for effective action against terrorists on their territory and to prevent such incidents in the future.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed grief over the incident and paid tribute to the martyrs. He extended his condolences to their families and offered prayers for them. He also reiterated that ridding the country of terrorism was part of the national agenda and that the country would rest only after defeating this menace.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah also condemned the attack and paid tribute to the martyrs, saying that the entire nation salutes them and is united in the war against terrorism. He further added that the scourge of terrorism would be eradicated.

In January, another terrorist attack from across the Pakistan-Iran border in Balochistan's Panjgur district had resulted in the martyrdom of four security personnel. The incident was roundly condemned by Pakistan's senior officials, and the Foreign Office had urged Iran to punish the culprits and ensure a thorough investigation.
